Cato Ridge is a town in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Organisationally and administratively it is included in the Ethekwini Metropolitan Municipality as a suburb of the Outer West region.
It is situated some 30 km south-east of Pietermaritzburg and 50 km north-west of Durban in the Valley of a Thousand Hills. Named after George Christopher Cato, the first mayor of Durban.
It is the ideal starting point for self-guided outrides to some of South Africa most spectacular sights, from immense dams to towering waterfalls.
Wherever you may have gone, but you’ve never experienced anything quite like the northern Mountains. At every turn in the road, you’ll encounter stunning views that change as the sun chases the shadows across the slopes and into the valleys.
